West Norfolk Carers is a local independent charity based in King's Lynn, we know from a recent Census that there are around 20,000 unpaid family carers in West Norfolk. The number of local carers continues to grow, and with more people living longer it is projected that even more carers will need support services to fulfil their caring roles.
We support carers of all ages - our youngest is 7 and our oldest is 94!
We run regular groups for young carers between the ages of 7-11, 11-14 and 14 to 18 years old, which gives them a break from their caring responsibilities. As well as organising trips out and social activities, we offer one to one support for those children who need it.
A family carer is someone of any age whose life is restricted because they are looking after another person who cannot manage without help because of illness, age related frailty, mental health need, substance misuse or disability. Family carers are not paid and do not always live with the person they care for. They may be caring for a friend, neighbour or relative. We need your help so we can continue to offer and even expand our service.
Thank you for your support and good luck!
